This plan is designed to augment your existing health plan providing the coverage you need to support your oral health.
Maintaining good dental health today can help avoid costly and uncomfortable issues down the road.
The following are covered at 70% with applicable limits:
- Preventive services which include cleaning, polishing, fluoride, and sealants
- Exams, including X-rays every 36 month and emergency examinations.
- Restorative services including fillings
- Surgical extractions & root canal therapy
- Denture services including repairs relining and rebasing.
*Medavie Blue Cross will pay 70% of the costs associated with the procedures listed above, in accordance with the Dental Society Fee Guide for general practitioners in your province of residence. A 6-month waiting period applies.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment Coverage is included with the Individual Dental Plan
The applicant and the applicant’s spouse are covered up to a maximum of $25,000 each in the case of accidental loss of life or accidental loss of limb.
*Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage will terminate the end of the month following your 65th birthday.
*Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage is underwritten by Blue Cross Life Insurance Company of Canada
Frequently Asked Questions
Your Dental Benefits will only be available after six months of continuous coverage under this plan. This allows us to protect all our members from unnecessary increases due to improper plan usage.
Medavie Blue Cross will pay 70% of the dentists usual and customary fee(s), up to the Dental Society Fee Guide (most recent publication) for general practitioners currently in effect in the participant’s province of residence.
Any charge in excess of the payment made by Medavie Blue Cross will remain the responsibility of the member.
