We want to extend a huge thank you for your participation in the 2024 Individual Broker Workshops. We hope you took away valuable insights from our keynote speakers and enjoyed the networking opportunities.

As requested, here is additional information on value-added programs offered through Medavie Blue Cross individual health plans.

InConfidence

Members and their families have access to InConfidence, a comprehensive confidential family assistance program, which offers support for mental, financial, physical, and emotional wellbeing.

Health Coaching and Chronic Disease Management

Where our members can take charge of their health with support from our network of specialized health professionals—without a doctor’s referral. We cover Health Coaching services related to Lung Health, Heart Health, Diabetes Care and Menopause Care.

Women’s Health*

Please check out our new Women’s Health resource site dedicated to women at all stages of life. Through our partnership with sanoLiving, we offer specially designed health solutions that recognize the unique health needs of women at midlife and empower them to thrive through the perimenopause and menopause transition.

360 Total Care*

A personalized coaching program to help members manage diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and obesity. Members are supported by specially trained health coaches and digital health devices that are linked to the 360Care app, allowing them to monitor and manage their health on the go.

*Expenses for the sanoMidLife and 360 Total Care programs are eligible for coverage under the Health Coaching and Chronic Disease Management benefit.

Online Doctors:

Online Doctors allows clients to use their mobile device or computer to connect with a Canadian-licensed general practitioner in minutes for consultation and treatment – day or night. Some personal health plans cover a specific number of visits while other plans get member-exclusive pricing.

Health Connected

Health Connected is a digital wellness portal that helps members assess their health risks, set goals, and improve their overall health and wellbeing, all in one place. Health Connected is free for all Medavie members and their covered family members over age 18.

Connected Care

Connected Care provides member-exclusive access and preferred pricing for innovative, convenient health care options, such as Online Doctors, Personalized Medicine, Mental Wellness, Health Connected, 360 Total Care and Mindfulness.

Coverage for specific services is highlighted in member booklets. Preferred pricing is automatically applied to all Medavie Blue Cross Members, even when coverage is not available.

We’re working on other supporting marketing materials to showcase how our different programs and resources add value to individual health plans, and we look forward to sharing those with you. Supporting Material - Recent Individual Health Product Changes

In order to support you with the Individual product changes that have come in to effect on June 22, we have put together some materials for your reference.

Process Update - Complete Health and Assured Access Not Requiring Medical Underwriting

As we continue our digital journey to move more of our processes to our online tool, we are happy to announce that you will be able to bypass medical questions in online applications for qualified members coming off underwritten individual health plans.

The scenarios that would not require medical questions answered include the following:

  • members rolling off their parents’ plan
  • split rollovers
  • inter-plan transfers

Before proceeding through the online application process, you will see a question in the beginning of the application asking if the client is eligible to bypass the medical questions for those specific reasons mentioned. If you answer yes, the online application will skip over the medical questions and gather only the necessary information to issue the policy; see screenshot image below.

All other requirements for these scenarios remain the same.

Additionally, please note that on the "Other coverage" screen, you will need the policy number and ID when selecting Medavie in the drop menu.

If this information is not included, the application could be delayed due to missing information.
